A BEAR NAMED WINNIE

Just before embarking for Europe to fight in the First World War, Canadian army lieutenant Harry Coleburn saves a bear cub from certain death and decides to keep it. However, colonel Barret is none too happy to have the bear called Winnie in his regiment. Obeying orders, Coleburn tries several times to abandon Winnie but the bear has grown fond of him and always manages to come back. So the officer decides to take him to Europe with him and give him to the London Zoo. Which is where A. Milne and his son get to know the bear that inspired the famous tales of Winnie the Pooh.
