1964. A village in Galilee under the Zionist military authority. Mabruk, who lost his parents in 1948 during the war, has become the “madman of the village”. He is secretly in love with Jamilah, who has been shocked by the war as well. He has also a reliable friend, the blacksmith of the village, who is one of the few to protest against the mayor Mukhtar, who has an understanding with the Israeli authorities.
