When aunt Eleanor dies, Natanaël’s family inherits a house on a cliff. Once they’ve moved in for summer vacation, Nat discovers he’s been given a whole library full of the original books of the tales that his aunt used to read to him. The problem is that Nat can’t read yet, so he doesn’t have a use for all those books until he realizes that at night they come to life and their characters come out of their pages. One day, in order to pay for some repairs to the house, Nat’s parents decide to sell all the books to the stingy junk dealer, Cleanout, and so all Nat can do to save the characters is to prove himself a hero and live an adventure like those in the tales he loves. |
