How is Switzerland viewed by a young South African who has never left his country? What message does it bring? We’ll take him on safari in our country, not for tourism or photography but for a journey inside the real country and its problems, its advantages, its peculiarities. This is one of the thousand ideas put into practice by the South African Embassy to Switzerland to celebrate in a worthy and intelligent way the ten years that have passed since the end of apartheid. Tens years of democracy marked by painful catharsis, by laborious conquests, by ever-present specters, by new incumbents but above all by a huge desire to progress in order to strengthen a country with a thousand resources which, despite the difficulties, is becoming an example and a locomotive for the entire tormented African continent. Welcomed by a snow-covered Switzerland last March 11th, 99 young South Africans representing the eleven regions of their country were scattered in groups of eleven through the different regions of Switzerland for an exiting safari.
