Ostia 1995. Vittorio and Cesare are life-long friends, practically brothers. They have grown up in a depraved district of Campania where they take drugs, drink and end up in fights with other stragglers like them. At home Cesare has a prematurely aging mother who looks after a sick granddaughter, whose mother died of AIDS. Vittorio, on the other hand, seems to have nobody in the world, so when he meets Linda he sees her as a chance to build a normal life for himself. He finds a job and also tries to involve Cesare, who in the meantime has fallen in love with Viviana, a dropout like him but who is full of enthusiasm for building herself a future. Will they succeed in taking charge of their lives? |
