Mélanie, Xavier, Virginie, Jordann, Rachel, Thys and Aurélie are now 14. The boys’ voices are breaking, the girls observe the changes in their own bodies. Their minds are filled with flirtations, dates and drinking while their parents, in the lack of influence or authority, try desperately to maintain at least a minimum of dialogue with them. But the young peoples’ need to assert themselves, to build identities, overwhelms their daily lives. Everything, or nearly, becomes something to fight over: telephone bills, curfews, how they dress…. The chasm between teenagers and parents is slowly getting deeper. |
