In a few days Liam will be sixteen. His mother Jean, who is in jail, should get out just in time to celebrate his birthday with him. Liam wants to use the occasion to finally fulfill the dream of a family he has never had. Weighing on him, in fact, are thoughts of his grand-father and of Stan, his mother’s partner. Liam wants to finally have a home that would make him, his mother and his sister, Chantelle, truly independent. But it’s hard for an adolescent living in a harsh environment to find the money it would take. With some friends he starts up an illegal business, ready to get out of it as soon as his goal is reached. But not everything goes as planned. |
