Marcia is a modest and lonely young shop girl living an apathetic, routine life in Buenos Aires. One day she is stopped on the street by Mao and Lenin, two punk lesbians who, after provoking her with brutal frankness, lead her off with them on a trip to the sea, which Marcia has never seen. The excursion is transformed into a sort of rite of initiation, culminating at the house of one of Lenin’s aunts, where two boarders, Felipe and Delia, also live. Among the six characters “suddenly” (this is how the original title can be translated) explodes a strange relationship of complicity and tenderness, but first they have to overcome various obstacles, including the shock of death. |
