THE LITTLE POLAR BEAR

Lars the little polar bear lives on the polar ice together with his family and many friends, always learning new things and little by little managing to overcome his fears, thanks above all to help and love from the others. This short film comprises three connected stories: In the first, Lars makes friends with a seal pup after it saves his life. The little polar bear does not care that his new friend is different from him, nor that their friendship is prohibited among the polar bears as it is "not natural".

In the second part, Lars finds himself adrift at sea following the detachment of an iceberg he was taking a nap on: his journey sees him drift as far as the warm seas of the tropics, where he discovers a landscape and fauna completely different to that of the North Pole. He makes new friends, who will protect him and help him return home quickly. In the third part, we follow Lars in his struggle against the "black ship", a monstrous being which suddenly appears and advances through the water, breaking the ice and swallowing up all the fish in the sea. This monster deprives both humans (the tribe of the Eskimo girl who comes into contact with Lars) and animals of their food, and puts the equilibrium created between the inhabitants of the pack ice at risk. Only courage and co-operation will let them defeat this enemy and see life return to its previous smooth, calm pace.
