Han-soo lives alone with his mother in a little seaside town. He is the hope of his school's swimming team but just when the national meets start, which could decide his college admission, he decides to abandon it. He then learns that his mother has attempted suicide, taking a lot of pills. Neither his studies nor swimming help him to overcome his constant depression and when he sees his mother in a coma he realizes that he no longer has any goals.
