A man and a little girl enter a small-town restaurant to order take-out dinner. Emma, the young waitress, begins to suspect that the little girl is in danger. Soon suspicion turns to obsession; Emma tries to convince her colleagues, even going so far as to confront the child's father. At the same time, Emma's buried demons resurface, perhaps affecting her clarity of judgment.
