Azur (blond and blue-eyed) and Asmar (dark-eyed and chocolate-skinned) grow up together like brothers, fed by the same woman who is mother to one of them and wet-nurse to the other. During their childhood they share their joys, disappointments and feelings until one day they are separated. They meet again years later as rivals, one Christian and one Muslim, each trying to be the first to reach the jinn's fairy, who will wed the prince able to go through numerous ordeals to get to her.
