Among the ruins of Kuneitra, in Syria, there is the tomb of one of the many fighters of Palestine. His son tries to reconstruct the story of this man, also referring to what is left of his mother’s torn memory. So his glance goes through the troubled political past of Syria, from the 30s up to 1967. The night draws its inspiration from the director’s childhood memories and wants to be a strong and emotional homage to his dead father. But in the same time, the recalled individual destinies disappear in History, which is the real protagonist of the film.
