Once again this year Cinema&Gioventù, the youth jury organised and coordinated by Castellinaria Festival del cinema giovane during the Locarno Film Festival, is back, from 5 to 17 August. The 25 young members, divided into 3 different juries, are preparing to experience the 78th edition of Locarno as true protagonists. A unique experience to meet, discuss and exchange views with young people of their own age and with directors, actors and producers in a privileged way. There will also be educational moments on the language of cinema with experts in the field and opportunities to get to know our territory.
What is it about?
Through Cinema & Gioventù you participate in Locarno Film Festival as a member of a jury and learn to have a spirit of film analysis through workshops on film language and meetings with experts in the field.
C&G is an opportunity to experience the Festival as a protagonist, meeting, discussing and exchanging views with young people of your own age and with directors, actors and producers in a privileged way.
Who can enroll?
Anyone between the ages of 18 (completed!) and 23, from Switzerland and abroad, with a keen interest in film can apply.
Good knowledge of Italian, French and English or at least two of these languages is required.
When does it take place and where?
From August 5 to 17, 2025, in Locarno during the Locarno Film Festival.
The entry fee is CHF 500.
The registration fee includes:
- accommodation and breakfast (12 nights)
- accreditation and materials needed to perform one's duties as a juror
- in-depth meetings held by experts in the field
- meetings with directors and actors
- invitations to receptions and parties organized as part of the Festival
