When his parents are killed by a mysterious “curse” that hits their village, Musa, a 9-year- old Zulu boy decides to search for his uncle in order to get money to buy a new cow for his grandmother (whose first one had been sacrificed in an attempt to save his father’s life). The boy departs for Johannesburg, armed with intelligence and determination. He will find obstacles in the city, and discover that the “curse” is widespread there, too, and goes by the name of AIDS. But he will be helped and supported by new friends.
