Virginia (age 11) discovers that her grandmother has died and decides to keep this secret from her 6-year-old sister, Alicia. Tonight Virginia doesn’t sleep with Alicia but with her grandmother’s corpse. Alicia tries to discover the truth but Virginia seems loath to reveal it. And so the children say nothing about the death but share a farewell ritual.
