Clara, 13, lives with her mother and stepfather on a farm in the Swiss Alps. With friend Thomas she finds an old shoe that puts her in contact with Susanna, a girl who lived on the farm two centuries ago and is upset because her father has captured a bear cub because, according to an ancient legend, whoever harms bears will be cursed. Clara decides to help Susanna but before they manage to save the bear cub and restore the equilibrium between humans and nature in the past, Clara and Thomas will find themselves involved in a dangerous adventure in the present.
