Elina is a schoolgirl of Finnish origins forced by Tora Holm, a strict teacher, to speak only in Swedish. Holm brooks no discussion and Elina seeks refuge in fantasy, dialoguing with the father she has no longer. When another teacher decides to defend her, the world changes for her and even her classmates are on her side.
