Forced to part from her mountains, where she lives with her grandfather and her few friends, Heidi is taken to the city to take care of Clara, a sick girl. The house is ruled with an iron hand by strict and insensitive governess Miss Rottermeyer who doesn’t like the sincere friendship growing between the two girls. Clara’s health seems to get better, but Heidi feels sad, far from her mountains.
