Charlie lives in the mountains with his mother and father, often absent because he is an engineer and a pilot. Charlie wants a bicycle for Christmas and instead his father brings him a model airplane that seems to take on its own life when his father is killed in a crash. Xavier, his father's colleague, examines the model, which truly seems to have a special rapport with Charlie. But Charlie doesn't want his airplane “studied”, he wants to keep it for himself and, thanks to friendship with neighbor Mercedes, he manages to psychologically overcome the trauma caused by his father's death.
