In her shop, the Befana receives orders for gifts. Her assistant, perfidious Doctor Scarafoni, forces her to stay in bed with a false flu to take matters into his own hands. His aim is to get rich by only serving the children of wealthy clients. Francesco, a poor child and an orphan, knows that his wish to get the “Freccia Azzurra” toy train will not be fulfilled. But the toys understand the situation and decide to take action. Unbeknown to humans, the toys come to life and on the evening of January 5th, before Scarafoni takes them for delivery to the people who have paid for them, led by the rag dog Spicciola, they run away...
