LA TERRE EST RONDE

2000

Chloé is 14 but too different from her peers to be accepted as she is. In the beginning the surprise makes them laugh, and they horse around, but only up to a certain point. When the joking gets rough and repetitive, tension rises and the group deserts her. Chloé doesn’t mind, she watches her companions from afar, continuing to play with her colored ball. But when the ball the others are playing with falls into a canal she doesn’t hesitate to give them hers, not even expecting a gesture of thanks. This could be the first step towards future interrelations based not on mistrust or fear but instead on respect and equality.
