LASSIE COME HOME! (Torna a casa Lassie!)

1943

In Yorkshire, during the Great Depression, worker Sam Carraclough has lost his job and has to sell his collie, Lassie, to the wealthy Duke of Rudling. Sam’s son Joe, who loves the dog, is desperate. After various successful escapes to rejoin his beloved master, the duke takes the dog to his lands in Scotland, hundreds of miles away. But here his niece Priscilla realizes how unhappy Lassie is and helps her get away. The dog begins the long trek home, overcoming threats and dangers and also getting help and unhoped for affection along her way. Wounded and bone-weary, Lassie arrives in the courtyard of Joe’s school, where she was accustomed to wait for him.
