Maria, 17, lives in a town near Bogota with her mother, grandmother, sister and nephew. She works for a rose exporting company. Her only amusements are the street fairs she attends with her boyfriend, Juan. One day, after an argument with her boss, Maria quits. And although her family doesn't know it, she is pregnant. So she decides to go to the city to look for a friend, Franklin, who offers her a moneymaking job: smuggling heroine to the United States by swallowing drug pellets. Lucy, who’s expert in drug trafficking, and departs after swallowing 62 drug pellets, trains Maria.
