Meeting One-To-One

0

As a supplement to the selection of diploma short films from cinema schools around the world, Castellinaria is organising the second edition of the One-to-One Meetings.

The Festival is inviting eight European directors, chosen from those selected in the Castellincorto competition, and giving them the possibility for comparison with the public and with Swiss and European producers to discuss and highlight the strengths and weaknesses of the projects presented.

Rafael Soatto

OFFSHORE – France

Founded in 2000 by Fabrice Préel-Cléach, Offshore has produced around twenty short films and three feature-length productions. Its recent short films include Nicolas Guiot's Le cri du homard, selected for the 2013 César awards and the Magritte awards. Offshore's feature length films include Guillaume Senez's Keeper, Vanja Leturq's L’année prochaine and L’art de séduire by Guy Mazarguil.

In our search for new talent and short film projects, we are guided by first impressions of projects and meetings with directors and filmmakers. The company's back catalogue is composed of these projects, chosen for their sensitivity and personal points of view. Each film must be unique and original. Right from the first meeting we aim to grow together with our filmmakers and move on towards feature-length projects. But not all our partnerships have this final goal. Short film for us is like a workshop which transforms the written word into film and makes collaboration between individuals possible or impossible.

Georg Tiller

SUBOBSCURA FILMS – Austria

The production company Subobscura Films came into being in Vienna in 2014 thanks to a partnership between Marco Schmitt, Claudio Pfeiffer and Georg Tiller. Georg Tiller's most recent film, White Coal, was shown at the Rotterdam film festival and the Jeonju Film Festival in 2015. Subobscura Films produces fiction, documentaries and artistic projects. We aim to work with artists, directors and other production companies to set up a discussion on cinema which explores its dark and hidden recesses. These efforts can be the result of both national and international co-productions, or even other unexplored avenues.
