Paula, aged 11 and of a wealthy family, is robbed of her precious diary. This leads to a series of adventures because Paula makes friends with Toby, a less fortunate boy, who saw the theft, and the two begin detecting. They discover that the thieves are Rom children, in the clutches of organized crime. Things get serious but Paula and Toby are more determined than ever.
