Leo is 11 years old, and is being treated in hospital for a serious illness. He is a passionate reader of mysteries, and one day he has the good fortune to meet a police chief, Alex, who is confined to a wheelchair following a serious injury sustained in a shoot-out with a mysterious person. This person is an evil individual with a disfigured face, who has the electricity grid of the city of New York under his control and has given the mayor a 24-hour ultimatum. Leo discovers by chance that he has a special power – he can leave his body and fly through the air like an invisible ghost. Leo and Alex, who wants to solve the case but cannot leave the hospital, team up, and with the help of Mary, a courageous journalist, their cunning and bravery are able to save the city.
