As his native village will cease to exist to make room for an open-air lignite mine, 12-year-old Ben and his family must move to the nearest town. At school Ben is looked upon as the newcomer and things are not going well as a budding soccer player either. To make things more complicated, there’s also another outsider. Ben risks being marginalized, until he discovers that he has more in common with his competitor than he thinks.
